SANYA, October 25. /TASS/. The annual conference of the Western Returned Scholars Association (WRSA) and the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Summit will be held from November 22 to 24 in the Hainan resort of Sanya, the Hainan Daily reports.
According to the newspaper, the organizers expect the participation of about a thousand experts, scientists, entrepreneurs and students. The main theme of the event will be innovation and high technology. During four panel discussions the participants will talk about such issues as e-economy, modern biomedicine, high-tech industry and attraction of highly specialized personnel to Hainan. The conference will also include a roundtable discussion titled "Carbon Peak and Neutrality."
Forum participants will also discuss the opportunities for businesses in Hainan's Free Trade Port policy, including measures to liberalize the business environment and the region's unique taxation system.
This year's WRSA conference will be the ninth one. The event has been held annually since 2012. According to the organizers, more than 400 projects with a total investment of about 1.22 billion yuan (about $190.6 million) have been initiated at the conferences.
