Many hotels, tourist facilities and duty-free stores in the resort city of Sanya (southern Hainan province) have launched various discount campaigns and lucrative offers to attract tourists during the summer vacation season. This is reported by the Hainan International Communication Network (HICN).
For instance, those who have passed the state college entrance examination in 2022 will be able to get a 15% discount on goods at the Sanya International Duty-Free Complex. To do so, they need to provide an identity document as well as an exam pass. The campaign will last until June 30.
There are also a number of online discount offers. According to Yang Lin, sales manager of the Sanya International Duty-Free Complex, there are many promotions and coupons on the store's website, covering almost the entire range of products. Perfumes and cosmetics have up to 30% discounts, and some popular items can be as much as 61% off.
The program of privileged visits to various attractions and hotel stays in the city also contributes to the tourist attraction in the summer season. It provides a whole range of tourist products, in particular for families and graduates. About 70 hotels and various tourist facilities of the "A" category are involved in it.
By 2025, the Chinese government intends to create an "international center for tourism and consumption" on Hainan. In order to do so, the "Eastern Hawaii" with their unique natural landscapes, thick rainforests and great climate will establish a developed network of hotels, which blend perfectly with white sandy beaches stretching along the coastline. The combination of an exotic subtropical nature and a modern eco-friendly infrastructure will boost tourist inflow to the island from the most distant parts of the world.
During the 13th Five-Year Plan (2016-2020), Hainan welcomed about 352 million Chinese and foreign tourists.
